What is this?
As cross stitchers, we spend a lot of time creating our projects, and there's often a story behind each one. Open Call wants you to share your finished pieces and their histories so that your fellow stitchers can appreciate all your hard work. Oh yeah, and you can win some of the estimated $20,000 in prizes! Participating in the contest also means your family and friends will be eligible to apply for our four-year, $10,000 scholarship in May 2011.
Who can enter?
If you cross stitch, you're eligible to enter Open Call. It's that simple. For this contest, we want to see everyone's work, no matter the style, theme, material, threads, finish, or skill level. This is your chance to show off all of your projects!
When does this happen?
Open Call will begin accepting entries on Monday, February 28, 2011 and will continue until Saturday, April 30, 2011. We recommend you submit your entries early so you have as much time as possible to promote your online portfolios and increase your odds of winning the $1,000 Stitcher's Vote award.
How do I participate?
Using our online form is the quickest and easiest way to submit your entries. You'll be able to upload five photos of your project and tell us the story behind it. Each entry costs just $25 and entitles you to these benefits:
